This is a professional position that is responsible for managing key functions related to quasi-judicial tribunals backssment Review Board and Subdivision and Appeal Board) as well as the practical application of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act as it relates to the activities of the municipality. Our ideal candidate Undertakes designated role as Clerk of the backssment Review Board and the Subdivision and Appeal Board in accordance with the Municipal Government Act, Interpretation Act, and Matters Relating to backssment Complaints Regulation. Makes recommendations to the Board regarding the validity of appeal applications, assists the Chair in drafting decisions and hearing procedures. Arranges for independent legal counsel for the Boards as necessary. Receives appeals, reviews for completeness and validity, coordinates and schedules hearings, interacts with complainants and their agents, undertakes evidence management and preparation for hearings. Assists FOIP Head (City Clerk) with developing policy, guidelines and procedures for collection, use, access and disclosure of information. Under direction of FOIP Head, processes all access to information requests in accordance with relevant legislation, liaising with business units and applicants. Maintains the City's Personal Information Bank directory in accordance with the FOIP Act. Qualifications Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
