ARA is seeking an experienced pavement engineer to work full-time for our Transportation Infrastructure Division in the Greater Toronto Area. Our core business in Ontario (and throughout Canada) includes transportation asset management and pavement engineering, and we are seeking an experienced engineer who has passion in this type of work. Our pavement engineers are actively involved in all aspects of the profession, which includes problem solving, using subject matter knowledge and innovation to offer high-quality solutions to our clients, marketing to bring in new business, and writing high-quality proposals. Travel may be required to project sites and for business development purposes. Remote and/or hybrid work models may be available. What you will do as a senior civil engineer: Serve as a leader in pavement engineering, including pavement design, condition backssment, and pavement management. Lead in and participate in writing proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs and other solicitations. Must be able to effectively lead the proposal team in meeting all requirements. Perform business development tasks to grow the business and your professional network, provide technical presentations at conferences/local area meetings and for potential clients, etc. Lead project execution as a project manager/technical advisor. Work with your project team and other project managers to execute project work, including pavement design, pavement testing and analysis, and database management. Work with technical staff to complete field work in professional manner with attention to accurate and complete reporting. Ensure on-schedule project delivery, on budget, and interface with others to resolve any challenges. Engineers must be able to work both independently and as part of a project team to apply engineering principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments.
