The city is a diverse organization involved in land development, municipal utility distribution, electric generation, airport operations, landfill operations, upstream oil and gas industries, as well as traditional municipal functions. Our ideal candidate As our ideal candidate, you have: solid knowledge of provincial, and federal environmental policies, procedures, and legislation regarding pre-disturbance biophysical backssments, and wetland surveys, conservation and reclamation plans and weed management plans. technical expertise on conducting, managing, and evaluating biophysical backssment findings, recommendations, and mitigation measures. working knowledge for obtaining various approvals for project construction or site access using online submission tools in Alberta. familiarity with the regulatory bodies having jurisdiction within Alberta, requiring consultation and collaboration on various environmental issues facing the City. knowledge and experience with developing regulatory approval applications, processes for the management of contaminated sites, interpreting applicable environmental regulatory requirements for various projects and dealing with environmental issues related to utilities, industrial plants, landfills and airports.
