Admissions maintains expertise in current research and best practice in admission policy and process and is responsible for providing information and advice to undergraduate divisions concerning the admission process. It further acts as a resource to divisional committees. Your opportunity: Under direction of the Associate Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counsellor works as part of a team to support the backssment and processing of applications to undergraduate, first-entry divisions. The Admissions Counsellor backsses applications for admission to first entry and select second entry undergraduate divisions, identifies and evaluates required documents to determine eligibility, and researches and backsses selected educational systems and transfer credit equivalencies. The Admissions Counsellor provides counselling services to a diverse student population and their families on the admissions process at the University to include; program options and requirements, cut-offs, appeals, transfer credits and explain/interpret University admissions policies. Such counselling takes place through in-person appointments, information sessions, phone calls and emails. In addition to counselling service, the incumbent performs a variety of operational administrative functions; develop and present workshops and presentations to the broader University community on a variety of admission topics, work with multiple and complex systems (e. g. document management, student information, locally developed) to annotate and update documents and serve as a resource to an assigned.
