Acutronic is looking for a Controls Engineer I to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that customer requirements and specifications are met by providing cradle-to-grave oversight of the specification, design, integration, and acceptance testing of Acutronic products. Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Controls Engineer I Your Roles/Responsibilities: Review customer Statement of Work (SOW) and technical specifications, providing feedback on missing or insufficiently defined requirements, technical risks, and optimal system architecture Contribute to internal and customer design reviews, with responsibilities typically including: Electro-mechanical power units Selection of actuators and transmissions Design of control systems and overall system modeling using MATLAB/Simulink Creation and maintenance of the motion system Acceptance Test Procedure document Serve as the lead system integrator for standard electric systems, including but not limited to: Indirect drive, high-speed, high-accuracy systems Single and dual three-axis systems Centrifuges Linear actuation systems Robotic manipulators Auxiliary integration responsibilities include hands-on debugging and correction of residual electrical and mechanical issues Primary integration responsibilities include: Calibration of feedback systems Configuration of safety interlocks Compensation of control loops (amplifier current loop, motion loops) Final acceptance testing Customer operational training Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university, required.
