Date Posted: 2024-04-26Country: United States of AmericaLocation: KY201: RMS Louisville 6201 Strawberry Lane Louisville, KY 40214, Louisville, KY, 40202 USAPosition Role Type: HybridAt Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling - to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggressionWe bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threatOur team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure worldThe Mechanical Products Team (MPT), Shipboard Effectors Department is seeking Mechanical Engineers for development and production support across multiple programsThese positions are in Louisville, KY (Hybrid) This Mechanical Engineering position performs in alignment to expectations in the design, development and production support areas associated with mechanical designs, validation principals, qualification processes, procurement, and production processes across a design life cycleDevelopment work may include requirements understanding, concept development, DFMAs, PFMAs, margin analysis, technical data package (TDP) development, application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principals, engineering test principals, preparation of technical analysis reports, and presenting in design reviewsResponsibilities to Anticipate: As a Mechanical Engineer in an individual contributor role, responsibilities will include technical execution of tasks, recommending solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment of various mechanical sub-systems both in the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon and at suppliersPost critical design activities include contributing to first article inspections, work instruction reviews, material dispositions, and root cause investigations to production issuesDecisions are data driven and require preparing technical justification analysis reports and presenting to a variety of Engineering Review BoardsOther responsibilities to anticipate include a commitment to program schedule and budget, and 3D parametric modelingBasic Qualifications:--- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar Engineering discipline--- Two (2) years' experience in mechanical design and design documentation--- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.Sgovernment issued security clearance is requiredU.Scitizenship is required, as only U.Scitizens are eligible for a security clearancePreferred Qualifications:--- Mechanical aptitude to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.--- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite--- Advanced degree in Engineering discipline--- Proficient in 3D CAD tools (modeling and drawing)--- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5--- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
