Position Summary: As an Instructional Designer for the Transmission Apprenticeship team, you spearhead the development and maintenance of learning content, tools, compliance with legal standards, and programs crucial for our employees' success. Collaborate with Curriculum Development experts and Subject Matter Experts to craft engaging and effective learning solutions tailored to our business needs. Your role involves designing, analyzing, and refining content using various methodologies to ensure alignment with company policies and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Define learning objectives, course structure, and assessments. Conduct detailed analysis of content and tasks, aligning them with audience needs and business processes. Develop learning materials adhering to company standards, including presentations, guides, activities, and assessments. Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts through meetings and content reviews. Incorporate feedback and manage tasks and deadlines independently. Communicate issues and risks proactively to ensure smooth project execution. Required Skills: 3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training in a technical environment preferably in a utility industry. Proficiency in technical writing. Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies. Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Word. Familiarity with Excel. Prioritize work of multiple projects; work under pressure while remaining flexible. Highly Desired: Experience with QuestionMark and Author-It. Comfortable working on a High Performing Team environment. Strong safety knowledge. Residency within Northern California is preferred. JOB #2 (2624) Job Title: Instructional Designer, Training Curriculum Dev Location: Livermore , CA (Hybrid, need onsite 1-2 times a month) Description:NEED LOCAL CANDIDATES. TRAVEL WILL BE 5% TO 15% TO LIVERMORE, SAN RAMON, WINTERS AND OTHER LOCATIONS AS NEEDED. TOP THINGS LOOKING FOR: Strong ILT design skills, Storyline experience, openness to feedback and ability to pivot quickly. Job Description: Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content. Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments. Complete detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for target audience, business process, and systems. Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments. Create instructional graphics, scenarios, or interactions. Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience. Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings. Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback. Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks. Required Skills 3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training. Experience developing training for utility industry. Experience with technical writing Experience developing hands on skills training in a technical environment. Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies. Very strong Task Analysis knowledge and capability Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Articulate Storyline. Flexibility to work on simultaneous development efforts, as needed. Highly Desired Knowledge of QuestionMark and Author-it. Comfortable and capable working on a High Performing Team Safety knowledge strongly desired Must live and work within PG&E service area Available to travel 5% to 15% of time to local (i.e. Livermore, San Ramon, Winters) and remote locations in California, as needed. Bachelor's degree ideal but not required
