The Work You Will Do: The Waste Site Cleanup Section and Drycleaning Solvent Cleanup Program manages the state:funded investigation and cleanup of hazardous waste sites and emerging contaminants, coordinate with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) during the cleanup of federal Superfund National Priorities List (NPL) sites, and implement the Florida Drycleaning Solvent Cleanup Program. Management of these sites involves an interdisciplinary combination of geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, engineering, and environmental science to mitigate risk and protect human health and the environment. The Difference You Will Make: The Professional Engineer II works as a Project/Contract Manager and is responsible for and assists with the technical and managerial aspects of State:Funded hazardous waste cleanup sites, Superfund site rehabilitation projects, and Drycleaning Solvent Cleanup Program sites to ensure the environmental effectiveness of these projects in accordance with the National Contingency Plan (NCP), CERCLA/SARA and state regulations as appropriate.
