YOUR SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a professional nursing supervisor position requiring independent action and will be responsible for the programmatic aspects of the programs. This individual will be responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. Responsible for the supervision of staff Including appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, having the authority for hiring, and taking disciplinary action or effectively recommending such actions. Supervises direct reports including motivating, training, providing guidance, and direction.Supervises the work of care coordinators (nurses and counselors). Assigns plans and coordinates the workloads, work flows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with employees. Directs the work of employees to ensure assignments are within the applicable classification and the best use of time and resources. Ensures adherence to established policies, protocols, the Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines and CAPTA guidelines and procedures for the provision of care coordination and prenatal choice counseling services. Helps employees address and resolve concerns and complaints. Fosters a cooperative environment by maintaining good working relationships with peers, direct reports and other team units. Provides appropriate orientation, training, direction and guidance to employees on policies, program requirements, procedures, protocols and methods to perform their jobs. Monitors and evaluates the appropriateness of performance through quality assurance activities (record reviews, field/site visits, customer service surveys and reports). Communicates work expectations and how duties are measured. Motivates employees to improve the quality and quantity of work performed. Advises and counsels with staff regarding work performance and professional growth. Addresses performance problems through corrective action and progressive disciplinary actions as warranted. Documents performance at least semi:annually and keeps written records of performance problems. Reviews and approves leave and attendance records. Approves requests for annual (vacation time), sick, compensatory time, over time, administrative, leave with and/or without pay time and flexible work schedules. Ensures and holds employees accountable for the appropriate use of applicable time. Determines the duties to be performed and hire the best:qualified candidate. This includes writing position description and other recruitment documents. Works with the Human Resource office to advertise and conduct recruitment activities (reviewing and scoring of applications, interviewing candidates, checking references and documenting the
