This position specifically islocated in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer. The hours are M:F 6am : 2:45 pm. Shift: ALL Security Clearance :No Clearance : ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE (Job Description) Provide staff support of the Manager for the investigation, documentation and resolution of quality issues and initiatives. Support auditing of processes and products. Evaluate subcontractors' quality systems. Must be able to interpret standards, policies, procedures and agreed upon QMS Metrics to ensure the institutionalization of the QMS within the company and to ensure that QMS is continuously improving. : POSITION DEMANDS :Typically has a college degree or equivalent in Quality or a related Engineering field, plus minimum five (5) years' experience in the field; or Senior Operations and Maintenance experience (15:20 years).:Ability to understand ship specifications, drawings, MIL:STD, CFRs, ABS Rules, etc.:Knowledge of statistical methods and problem solving tools.:Good oral and written communication skills.:Have basic computer word processing skills.:Actively participates in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs. : PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSX Carrying X Lifting X Walking X Climbing X Pulling X Must be able to go on vessels X Crawling X Sitting X Visual Requirements: See Below X Crouching X Standing X Hearing X Stooping Other: X Kneeling X Talking Visual Requirements: Must be able to pass a Standard Jaeger's Test chart for near vision acuity reading J1 letters or equivalent with or without corrective aids and pass a color vision test using Ishihara's Tests for Color:Deficiency. : WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Reports directly to the Manager, Quality Assurance Department. Position requires the incumbent to be resourceful, assertive, self:reliant and consistent, in dealing with internal and external customers on a wide range of issues. Considerable latitude in scheduling own activities. : PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :Acts as an audit team member and conducting audits under supervision of processes, procedures, and products. stylemargin:bottom:13.0px:: Assists with subcontractor evaluations.: Assists with audits and proposing and preparing updates to Quality Assurance Department Procedures.: Analyzes processes as necessary and recommending improvements as appropriate for out of control process conditions, sporadic defects and non:conforming products. stylemargin:bottom:13.0px:: Assists in the design of Production, Engineering, and Materials, processes, including data collection and appropriate statistical methodology stylemargin:bottom:13.0px:: Maintains an understanding of contractual quality requirements.: Provides input, as appropriate, to business and production plans.: Assist in Monitoring corrective action plans and milestone dates and ensures correction of internal control deficiencies.: Other responsibilities and duties as assigned. : ACCOUNTABILITY Inaccurate decisions, errors in work and information may put the fiscal position of the organization at risk and damage
