Salary Range:26.5700:40.8500/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Under the direction of a registered nurse, provides care within the scope of the Vocational Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. Assists in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment. Assist with the care and maintenance of department equipment. Complete and accurate charting of patient records. Complete and accurate record keeping of equipment and quality measures. Assist team in direct and indirect patient care as assigned by department. The LVN must collaborate with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of care across the continuum, providing timely, safe and quality care. Responsible for providing a safe, HIPAA compliant environment for the patient and the staff. Demonstrates competence and sensitivity in caring for multicultural patients/families by adapting the plan of care based on cultural needs identified. Demonstrates an ability to work in a multicultural team environment and is respectful of the cultural diversity of the workforce and the patients served. Participates in continuous quality improvement process. Technology and Equipment Skills: Maintains knowledge of technology, tools, equipment and other devices in work area. For clinical position this includes equipment and devices pertinent to treatment, procedures and practice. Infection Control: Follows all policies and procedures in place within the department and organization to minimize the risk of spreading infections. Interpersonal Skills :Listens to and understands what others are saying. Establishes effective working relationships with others, contributing to a climate of mutual respect and cooperation. Uses language to the situation. Demonstrates sensitivity and tact, understanding own effect on the motivation, attitudes and actions of others. Makes favorable first impressions. Job Knowledge :Demonstrates full knowledge and understanding of concepts and procedures needed to be successful in the role, including knowledge of applicable department, organization and external rules and regulations impacting day to day processes. For clinical positions, this includes clinical procedures required by department and unit, as demonstrated by unit:based competency testing. Oral/Written Communication: Ability to speak and write effectively, demonstrates fundamental command of language, communicates well using all mediums. Patient Documentation: Prepares and delivers patient information in a manner that is consistent with the requirements of the role. Includes what happens during a clinical visit with patients, why a procedure or service is being performed and/or why a particular device is being used. Patient Safety :Embraces the principle of keeping patients safe by following safety policies and procedures, treating people with respect, and speaking up in Patient Safety related situations.
