Job Description: Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Contract)We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for a critical project involving the migration of our infrastructure from Linux VMs running .NET 4.7 to .NET Core on Linux containers, hosted on Azure. This is an immediate three-month contract position with the possibility of extension, requiring a US-based candidate eligible to work in the US. The role will be predominantly remote with occasional travel within the US as needed.Responsibilities: Lead the migration project from Linux VMs with .NET 4.7 to .NET Core on Linux containers in an Azure environment. Collaborate with the existing Site Reliability Engineering team and relevant stakeholders to architect, implement, and optimize the new containerized infrastructure. Evaluate existing PowerShell scripts used in the current environment and refactor or replace them as necessary to align with the new architecture. Conduct thorough knowledge transfer sessions with the current Site Reliability Engineering team to understand and appropriately document current systems. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for the new environment to ensure reliability and performance. Requirements: Previous experience in a senior SRE role with a focus on infrastructure migration and reliability engineering. Experience with Azure DevOps or Team Foundation Servers Strong background in .NET Core development and deployment. Demonstrated expertise in Azure cloud services, including resource provisioning, networking, and security. Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Advanced scripting skills, particularly with PowerShell; ability to refactor scripts for automation and orchestration. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective knowledge transfer and documentation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment. Extensive experience with Linux systems administration, particularly in Azure environment US-based with the flexibility for occasional travel within the US. Preferred Qualifications: Azure certification (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-400) or equivalent cloud platform certification. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins). Knowledge of best practices for security, performance tuning, and scalability in containerized environments.
