Practice Area: Patent Agents - Computer Science,Patent Agents - Computer Engineering, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 5 Years, A law firm in Atlanta is currently seeking an IPT Patent Agent to join their dynamic Intellectual Property Technology (IPT) practice. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with partners, counsels, associates, and patent agents to protect clients' inventions at the forefront of technology. The IPT Patent Agent will play a pivotal role in meeting with clients to discuss invention disclosures, evaluating technology, preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications, assisting with opinion writing, providing client counseling, offering litigation support, and supplying technical support for the practice. The position requires a strong educational background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, or a closely related field, and the candidate must be registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office. Job Details:Collaborate with partners, counsels, associates, and patent agentsMeet with clients to discuss invention disclosures, patent strategy, and ongoing prosecution mattersEvaluate technology for patent protectionPrepare and prosecute US and foreign patent applicationsAssist with opinion writingProvide client counseling on intellectual property mattersOffer litigation supportSupply technical support for the practice Requirements:5+ years of experience independently preparing and prosecuting patent applications in computing and/or electrical artsMust be registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark OfficePrevious law firm or in-house experience is requiredBachelor’s degree (and preferably an advanced degree) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, or a closely related fieldMust be registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office Skills:Strong educational background in relevant fieldsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to independently prepare and prosecute patent applicationsPrevious law firm or in-house experienceCollaboration and teamwork One of the biggest and most well-known law firms in the world, attorneys here are connected with a dizzying array of markets, industries, and practice areas.
