Director/Senior Director, Program and Alliance Management Repertoire Immune Medicines is a biotechnology company working to unlock and direct the remarkable power of the human immune system to treat cancer, autoimmune disease, and infectious disease. The company was founded by Flagship Pioneering on the belief that understanding the repertoire of T cell receptor (TCR)-antigen immune synapses that maintain health and drive disease represents one of the greatest opportunities for innovation in medical science. Repertoire scientists created and developed the DECODE TM platform, which allows in-depth characterization of TCR-antigen pairs, and the ability to deploy this information in the form of novel targeted immune medicines to fundamentally reprogram the immune system to kill tumors or induce immune homeostasis. From its sites in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Zurich, Switzerland, Repertoire’s team is creating a new pipeline of therapeutic immune medicines enabled from its DECODE discovery platform.  Repertoire is currently using its proprietary platform to discover novel epitopes and TCRs from patients with autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis, creating programmable tolerizing mRNA vaccines to restore immune homeostasis in these indications. In oncology, Repertoire’s decoding of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and the antigens they target is enabling development of TCR bispecific therapies and mRNA cancer vaccines to treat solid tumors.  Role Overview Reporting to the President of Repertoire and working closely with the Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Repertoire on the alliance management of our BMS and future external collaborations, the Director/Senior Director of Program and Alliance Management will effectively manage our research collaborations in support of the company’s pipeline strategy as well as play a lead role within the organization in delivering cross-functional plans to ensure programs and projects are delivered on time and within budget. The selected candidate must demonstrate excellent oral, written, presentation, and facilitation skills, to effectively manage external partnerships and lead key updates across all levels of the organization. This is a strong team player who is energized to build positive relationships and effectively partner across both internal and external teams to support the execution of critical corporate goals. Requirements Local candidate preferred with an on-site presence at our Cambridge, MA office 3+ days a week based on business need. Modest domestic and international travel required. Key Responsibilities Program Management Effectively partner with R&D Scientific Team Leads and Teams to drive projects and programs to successful outcomes. Develop and drive project plans and timelines; track and manage milestones within the defined scope, time, and cost constraints; support coordination and communication between teams, ensuring senior leaders are frequently informed on project progress. Facilitate project team meetings, including meeting agendas, minutes, action items, and decisions, proactively communicating critical path items to team leads. Facilitate team preparation for data-driven recommendations for key decisions, enabling endorsement by senior leadership and other key stakeholders. Proactively identify project issues, including those related to timing, resources, and funding, to prevent delays in project milestones. Take active role in issue resolution and risk mitigation plans, developing contingency plans as needed. Contributing expertise to the continuing development of the program management function to help further the needs of the business. Works closely with the legal team to ensure contractual obligations and intellectual property considerations are understood and met. Works closely with the Finance Team to ensure scientific milestones are aligned with and communicated to approved budget. Alliance Management Lead and manage relationships and programs with Repertoire’s external partners based on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the collaboration agreements the collaborative scientific activities and the research goals. Primary point of contact for partner organizations, driving and/or assisting in the review and all partner communications and ensuring Repertoire’s compliance with the collaboration agreement terms. Responsible for all meeting preparation and follow up including meeting minutes and agendas, organization of documents, and tracking of decisions. Ensures a healthy and thriving relationship with Repertoire’s partners, acts as the initial point of contact for dispute resolution. Monitoring and tracking partnership progress, ensuring timely achievement of milestones and contractual obligations. Working closely with cross-company project teams to ensure teams are operating within the agreement. Maximize the value of Repertoire’s partnering activities by accelerating collaboration goal objectives and conceiving, developing, and championing new alliance opportunities with existing partners in alignment with the Corporate Development and R&D strategy. Qualifications/Experience Bachelor of Science degree (biology, molecular biology, or related field preferred). Advanced degree and/or PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred. Typically 10 to 15 years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, including 5+ years in project management in early-stage discovery; alliance management experience preferred. Strong influencing skills including negotiation, meetings management, and group dynamics, ability to balance concerns of senior leaders with objectives of cross-functional teams. Ability to effectively plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities to deliver results to tight deadlines. Ability to rationalize both strategically and tactically and be able to present recommendations to senior leaders and key stakeholders. Experience managing the financial aspects of project management, including planning, budgeting, and reporting. Well-developed understanding all aspects of drug development with includes direct experience in working with research, clinical and/or commercial organization.
