The ideal candidate must have 5-10 years of legal experience, strong communication skills, and expertise in immigration law.Duties:Provide legal representation to clients in immigration matters, including family-based petitions, employment-based visas, deportation defense, and asylum applications.Conduct consultations with clients to assess their immigration needs and provide legal advice accordingly.Prepare and file various immigration applications, petitions, motions, and briefs with government agencies and courts.Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, including hearings and appeals.Conduct legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and precedents to support case arguments.Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, documentation, and correspondence.Requirements:Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland.5-10 years of experience practicing immigration law.Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish is essential.Excellent client communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and understandably.Strong writing and analytical skills, with attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when necessary.Sound judgment and decision-making skills in evaluating legal options and strategies.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the Maryland State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.Certification or specialization in immigration law is preferred.Skills:Proficient in legal research tools such as AILA Link, Westlaw, and Lexis.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse immigrant populations.
