JOB TITLE: Project Accountant (Ground-up Multi-family Construction) COMPANY: Provident General Contractors LOCATION: Dallas, TX Provident General Contractors is currently looking for a Project Accountant to join our highly successful Accounting team in Dallas where you will manage the flow of financial information from the beginning to the end of the project.Recognized as a top 20 Multi-Family builder in the nation, Provident General Contractors is a Texas-based general construction firm specializing in ground-up multi-family developments ranging from 250-400+ units throughout Texas. Founded in 2004, our team is actively growing, with 20+ projects currently in process and a strong backlog. What You Need for this Position: To be successful on this team you need to be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and enjoy putting pieces of the puzzle together. We need people who believe in building relationships; someone who can connect the dots and think outside of the box. Responsibilities Responsible for the complete project life cycle which includes construction costing & billing methods, earned revenue, change orders, project budgets, contract compliance, and construction reporting metrics. Analyze project expenses and budget-to-actual reports with the construction project managers to proactively identify potential cost overruns. Review and tally all invoices for each project to ensure expenses are on track according to the budget. Ensure timely and accurate project transaction postings such as cost, billings, change orders, budget adjustments, transfers, etc. Ensure timely and accurate filing of lien notices and liens. Monitor project cash flow and identify aging receivables for collections correspondence. Assist with the month-end close process ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Coordinate project closeouts with project managers. Process Subcontractor payments and invoices. Review and verify accuracy of construction draw requests and supporting documentation. Conduct a daily reconciliation of job costs. Skills Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting 5+ years of Construction project accounting experience, working in real estate or construction and development industry Proficiency in full-cycle accounting, including managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Extensive experience in project invoicing and billing. Experience with construction draw and lien release process Strong knowledge of AIA/G702 & G703 Applications Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Hands-on experience with accounting software like Sage 100/300 and Textura Detail-oriented and strong financial acumen Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take initiative, multi-task, be a team player and adapt to shifting priorities Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent organization skills, commitment to accuracy, and attention to details Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines Professional judgment and the ability to work independently Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with diplomacy Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Why PGC: Positive working environment geared toward job advancement and overall success - We offer training, goal setting, and professional development Excellent work/life balance Highly competitive salary Quarterly bonuses Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401k 3 weeks PTO and Paid Holidays Powered by JazzHR
