Engineer, Reliability and Maintenance

The Maintenance and Reliability Engineer coordinates maintenance and reliability for efficient operations of Corbion's facility in Blair, Nebraska. In this role, you will focus on systems improvement, operational enhancement and cost reduction. The ideal candidate will have experience managing execution and repair strategies for an annual maintenance spend of 2MM. Responsibilities: - Benchmark predictive maintenance programs and create standardization within Corbion. Consolidate into program performance standards such as data collection and alarming criteria for at least 5 main predictive maintenance technologies- Identify reliability problems/high maintenance cost systems or equipment - Solve chronic problems and find root causes of failures - Find innovate solutions to help design new systems to prevent failure reoccurrence- Optimize and integrate existing maintenance and reliability system into facility operations- Provide coaching and development to Vibration Specialist- Define PM/PD (preventative and predictive maintenance) tasks, frequency and review indicators- Oversee maintenance improvement projects- Review inventory strategy and management- Complete failure and root cause analysis- Assist in identifying causes of failures and identify gaps in our reliability strategy (Bad Actor Program based on the Pareto Principal)- Participate in the MOC (Management of Change) process, responsible for MOC sign:off- Promote reliability to maintenance department using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)- Perform within the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, security measures, housekeeping, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), all quality, regulatory, environmental, safety and health guidelines and regulations. These standards are used in all daily activities to ensure product safety and quality are in compliance. Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Master's Degree a plus.- 3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, maintenance department or similar environment- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with people from different levels and departments within the organization - Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) regulations, per the FDA- Demonstrated experience managing ROI and risk assessments on plant or mechanical equipment - Ability to assess equipment and justify equipment:related decisions to leadership- Professional REC (Reliability Engineer Certification) a plus Physical Demands:The work is performed mainly in the general office environment and plant operations areas where PPE is required. Through the course of a typical shift, an individual in this position will perform the following activities: - Must be able to perform moderately heavy physical activity 10 of time and lift weight up to 50lbs- Must be able to lift, push or pull heavy objects daily, in excess of 50lbs, 10 of the time- Prolonged Standing, 20 of the time- Walk extensively, 20 of the time- Bending and squatting occasionally- Reach above and below the shoulders in rare occasions- Frequently traverse multiple plant levels via stairs- Occasionally work in buildings or in outdoor environments exposed to temperatures throughout the year- Sit frequently in an office About Corbion Corbion is the global market leader in lactic acid and its derivatives, and a leading supplier of emulsifiers, functional enzyme blends, minerals, vitamins, and algae ingredients.
