Position SummaryThe University of Denver is seeking motivated and qualified lifeguards to start this summer season. Lifeguards play a crucial role in the safety and health of the DU community.This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.Essential Functions * Prevent and respond to any and all emergencies quickly and appropriately. * Prevent emergencies from arising by enforcing all rules and regulations. * Perform daily maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and heath of patrons and the facilities. * Attend scheduled quarterly inservices to maintain proper training. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Willingness to learn and comply with our facility specific health and safety procedures. * Ability to sit and stand while maintaining focus for extended periods of time. * Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with other faculty, staff, and patrons. Required Qualifications * A minimum of 16 years of age. * Current American Red Cross lifeguard certification, or willingness to obtain a Red Cross lifeguard certification. Preferred Qualifications * Previous lifeguarding or aquatics experience. Work ScheduleFlexible shifts available from 7:45am to 8:30pm. This includes weekends and holidays.
